BCTF craft event 2015!!!! lessons learnt on display!

So i arrived at the event and managed to sort a courier out the night before! (tight times!)  and got this beaut on ebay. It was wonderful until i discovered that the cabinet was too deep and low for the jewellery and the cheap battery operated lighting i was using did not work at all in illuminating the pieces. So my stand neighbour suggested i put them on top...

This was the finished result! it looked great and he worked some genius trick with the plug in order to share his electricity with me!? was quite brilliant so thankyou ed ceramics man for this. He also knew some fellow jewellers who lent me lots of lil display pieces! Was wonderful to be in such a helpful creative community.

Off to the Gallery with these! :)

A helpful tip: when presenting your work to a new gallery..Find a charity shop and old picture frame and buy some nice fabric of your choosing, (depending on your work) and show it off!

..And boxes that you can easily personalise :)

My workshop / creative space! plus new pickle bath!!

Decks on decks! My brother gave me his old decks to my decks on!! situated in the corner, nicely tucked away but accessible.
My new jewellery bench / workshop space for making and creating. Its great how you can use small spaces with the right furniture.
Above is my new pickle bath for cleaning the metal! Its actually a fondue set used for melting cheese. You pop a dash of methylated spirit as seen to the left in the bottom and light with a match (much safer)

You can control the flame in stages by turning the little metal leaver to the left or right and this controls the oxygen to the flame. Great little burner and no electric!
